MY APPROACH

A headshot of me, the psychotherapist, so clients can see what I look like.

My approach is hopeful, driven by a belief in our capacity for change. I'm curious about how personal freedom to choose, to express oneself, and to take responsibility gets limited in living.

My way of working - which is informed by philosophy - wonders about your unique experiences, the beliefs that inform you and how you deal with life’s difficulties, taking interest in both the ‘everyday’ and the ‘big questions’ of your existence. We explore your past, present and future to make sense of how you live now.

Our relationship is central to the work and can provide valuable insight into how you are with others.

This is the Existential-phenomenological approach to psychotherapy:

‘Existential’ = relating to one's existence.

‘Phenomenology’ = the study of experience.

I am an existential psychotherapist but I also trained integratively:

'Integrative' = trained in psychodynamic, existential,  humanistic approaches

WHAT I OFFER

I provide a unique space in your life - one that is all yours - where you can bring the unsayable and explore who you are. We slow things down and open them up, so you can reflect on and reframe your experiences and grow your self-understanding.

I can challenge you to look at things afresh, illuminate unrecognised parts of you, support you in making sense of your struggle and really listen. There is opportunity to process your past, find clarity in your present, and explore new possibilities for your future.

I do not diagnose, cure, fix or advise but support you to do your own discovering.
